Are you going to be a junior, senior, or recent graduate of high school in the fall of 2019? Want more out of camp? Want to learn more about being a leader and what it means to serve? Then our Glen Lake CIT program is the place for you!
Glen Lake’s CIT (Counselor in Training) program gives students a chance to spend the week at camp learning the ins and outs of camp, and be a part of an intentional community that loves Jesus.
Our program is designed to immerse students who are interested in camp ministry into the world of summer camp. This program serves as an introduction into Christian camping, and utilizes tools to develop and grow leaders in the Christian faith.
Week 1 is training, learning what it takes to make camp run, what it means to be a leader, and what it looks like helping others know Jesus. At the end of the week, CITs will participate in an interview with the CIT Guide and Program Director in order to decide whether they will return for the second week.
Week 2 is by invitation after the first week of training and is a chance to put what you have learned during the training week into practice. Each day will offer a combination of the three areas: personal faith journey, leading others, and service.
The CIT Guides will lead the CITs through a specific faith based curriculum to encourage their personal faith journey. CITs will join campers for additional worship and small groups. CITs will be connected to cabin groups in order to have opportunities to lead others. CITs will work with the Glen Lake Summer Staff to seek opportunities to serve the campers through programming needs: setup, cleanup, and facilitation of activities.
Each session will begin on Sunday at 2 pm and dismiss with campers at 11 am on Friday. The CITs will go home for the weekend between their sessions.
