NEW Counselor In Training Program
Glen Lake is introducing a new Counselor In Training Program for Summer 2017. There will be a 2-week session offered for students going into their senior year of high school or college in fall 2017. Glen Lake will accept ten students in the 2-week session (5 female and 5 male).
The CIT program is designed to immerse students interested in future camp ministry into the world of summer camp. The 2-week session is an introduction into Christian camping, but is also a program rich in developing and growing leaders in the Christian faith. The new program is designed to connect students with the camp counselor experience through three specific areas: personal faith journey, leading others, and service. Each day will offer a combination of the three areas. The CIT program will be led by the Glen Lake camp staff including 2 CIT Guides directly leading the program.
The CIT Guides will lead the counselors in training through a specific faith based curriculum to encourage their personal faith journey. CIT will join campers for additional worship and small groups. CIT will be connected to cabin groups in order to have opportunities to lead others. CIT will work with the Glen Lake summer staff to encounter opportunities to serve the campers through programming needs (setup, cleanup, and facilitation of activities).
The 2-week session will begin on Sunday at 2pm and dismiss with campers on Fridays. The CIT will go home for the weekend in the middle of their session.
