Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center is located in Glen Rose, Texas and is an extension ministry of the Central Texas United Methodist Conference. Our camp is located on the Paluxy River where retreats and campers experience the beautiful Texas hills while staying comfortable in our many cabins, lodges and education facilities.
Our unique, faith-based summer camp welcomes children, students, volunteers, and their families from all over the nation to experience God in fun-filled adventures and a journey creating disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world! - Family Camp 1: June 9-11
- Family Camp 2: July 23-25
Family Camp is a great way to introduce your family and first time campers to camp! Your family must have at least one K-3rd camper and one parent/guardian to attend. Lodging is at Still Water Lodge in a family suite unit. Your family will be introduced to the camp experience with all worship and activities taking place at the camp. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, and small group activities.
(week-long for grades 3, 4, 5, and 6th)
- Trailblazer 1: June 18-23
- Trailblazer 2 2: July 16-21
Trailblazer Camp is ONE COMBINED CAMP for campers going into 3rd-6th grade in the fall of 2017. It is an overnight, week-long camp with special activities for each grade! 5th-6th graders get to ZIPLINE! Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery, small group meetings, and specialized sessions.
(week-long for grades 9, 10, 11, 12, 13th)
- Pathfinder Camp: July 2-7
Pathfinder Camp is for campers going into 9-13th grades fall of 2017. This is an overnight, weeklong camp. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery, zipline, small group meetings, and specialized breakout sessions. (13th grade denotes the summer after completing Senior year. 2017 HS grads will meet in a small group with other graduates).
- Expedition Camp 1: June 25 – June 30
- Expedition Camp 2: July 9-14
Expedition Camp is for campers going into 6-8th grades fall of 2017. 6th graders can choose Trailblazer OR Expedition Camp. It is an overnight, weeklong camp. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery, zipline, small group meetings and specialized sessions.
- Trek Camp: July 22-23
Trek Camp is an introduction to overnight camping for campers going into the 2, 3, and 4 grades in the fall of 2017. Campers will stay in lodging with 12-14 campers and 2 trained adults. Campers will travel to camp activities with their roommates and staff members. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery and small group meetings.
