Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center is located in Glen Rose, Texas and is an extension ministry of the Central Texas United Methodist Conference. Our camp is located on the Paluxy River where retreats and campers experience the beautiful Texas hills while staying comfortable in our many cabins, lodges and education facilities.

Our unique, faith-based summer camp welcomes children, students, volunteers, and their families from all over the nation to experience God in fun-filled adventures and a journey creating disciples of Christ for the transformation of the world! If you plan to attend camp with your group, fill out our Volunteer Application.

(families including K-3rd)
Cost: $110 per family member

  • Family Camp 1: June 8-10
  • Family Camp 2: July 22-24


Family Camp is a great way to introduce your family and first time campers to camp! Your family must have at least one going into K-3rd camper and one parent/guardian to attend. Lodging is at Still Water Lodge in a family suite unit. Your family will be introduced to the camp experience with all worship and activities taking place at the camp. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, and small group activities. This includes a T-Shirt. 

Family Camp Details


(week-long for grades 3, 4, 5, and 6th)

Cost: $375

  • Trailblazer 1: June 17-22
  • Trailblazer 2 2: July 15-20

Trailblazer Camp is ONE COMBINED CAMP for campers going into 3rd-6th grade in the fall of 2018. It is an overnight, week-long camp with special activities for each grade! 5th-6th graders get to ZIPLINE! Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery, small group meetings, and specialized sessions.

Trailblazer Details


(week-long for grades 9, 10, 11, 12, 13th)

Cost: $375

  • Pathfinder Camp: July 1-6

Pathfinder Camp is for campers going into 9-13th grades fall of 2018. This is an overnight, weeklong camp. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery, zipline, small group meetings, and specialized breakout sessions. (13th grade denotes the summer after completing Senior year. 2018 HS grads will meet in a small group with other graduates).

Pathfinder Details



(week-long for grades 6, 7, and 8th grade)

Cost: $375

  • Expedition Camp 1: June 24-29
  • Expedition Camp 2: July 8-13

Expedition Camp is for campers going into 6-8th grades fall of 2018. 6th graders can choose Trailblazer OR Expedition Camp. It is an overnight, weeklong camp. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery, zipline, small group meetings and specialized sessions.

Expedition Details



(two nights for 1, 2, & 3 grades)

Cost: $160

  • Trek Camp: July 20-22

Trek Camp is an introduction to overnight camping for campers going into grades 1, 2, and 3 in the fall of 2018. Campers will stay in lodging with 12-14 campers and 2 trained adults. Campers will travel to camp activities with their roommates and staff members. Camp activities include worship, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, crafts, archery and small group meetings. This camp includes a T-Shirt.

Hunt Scholarship

The Dr. Richard Hunt family is committed to partnering with Central Texas Conference United Methodist Churches, Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center, and individual camper families to provide financial assistance for those campers whose low socioeconomic status makes full payment of the summer camp registration fee impossible. The Dr. Richard and Joan Hunt Camper Scholarship is financial need-based and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
